Workshop “From Waste to Resource: Innovative Approaches to Material Recovery and Sustainable Waste Management”

A recent workshop organised by ISWA brought together four EU-funded projects — RECLAIM, Wood2Wood, GRINNER, and EcoReFibre — to share their latest innovations in sustainable waste management. Titled “From Waste to Resource,” the event showcased projects tackling different waste streams, including electronic waste, plastics, and wood.

Highlights included AI and robotics for e-waste recycling (GRINNER), wood upcycling (Wood2Wood), wood waste recycling into building products (EcoReFibre), and a portable robotic material recovery system (RECLAIM).

The workshop emphasised the importance of collaboration to maximise the impact of these innovations and support Europe’s transition to a circular economy. Key partners involved include FORTH, AIMPLAS, KU Leuven, and others
