Cologne, May 20–23, 2025 – The EcoReFibre project took centre stage at Interzum 2025, Europe’s top trade fair for furniture and interior design. Presented at the European Panel Federation conference, the Horizon Europe project shared key progress on recycling post-consumer fibreboards. With over 60,000 visitors and 1,600 exhibitors, the event focused on the theme “Rethinking Resources: Circular and Bio-based Solutions.”

Highlights included recycled MDF and HDF fibres, zinc recovery systems, and digital product passports. EcoReFibre’s AI-driven sorting and recycling pilots aim to replace up to 25% of virgin fibres in new panels, supporting the shift toward circular furniture. Sessions like Materials & Nature and the Trend Stage provided the project a platform to reach industry leaders and influence future policies.
