EcoReFibre at LIGNA 2025


Hannover, Germany – 26–27 May 2025
At LIGNA 2025, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for woodworking and wood processing, the EcoReFibre project was featured through a series of technical presentations at the booth of the Institut für Holztechnologie Dresden (IHD). Experts from across Europe shared the latest developments in fibreboard recycling and fibre recovery technologies.

On Monday and Tuesday, presentations included:
“Properties of Secondary Fibres from Fibreboard Recycling Processes” by Percy Alao (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences), showcasing EcoReFibre research on fibre quality and reusability.
“Fiber2Fiber – The DIEFFENBACHER Sustainable Recycling Process” by Jonas Réssy and Jan Kasten (DIEFFENBACHER), introducing new machinery and process innovations.
“Modified TMP Process – Solid Wood Waste for MDF” by Marco Mäbert (IHD), focusing on using thermomechanical pulping for MDF production from solid wood waste.

The event gathered technical experts from across the EU, reflecting strong interest in sustainable solutions for wood-based panels. EcoReFibre’s presence at LIGNA underlined its contribution to advancing circularity in the wood sector.
